you must turn up the bass, paying special attention to Coldcut's very own dub mix of "People Hold On", a gem in which the original was super to begin with.

GILLES PETERSON'S WORLDWIDE SHOW is seriously soulful hip hop, jazz, funk, latin, afro-cuban, and very carefully chosen house. the bloke is well respected and has interviewed the cream of the crop (what the hell does that mean anyway). he pretty-much broke LITTLE DRAGON into worldwide recognition, months before even santa monica california's acclaimed KCRW.

The latest show has a heavy-duty collection of Q-TIP gems dating way back to the '80's when he rocked with THE JUNGLE BROTHERS. really cool to listen to the wealth of hit records he's put out, and the variety of appearances on others' hits like DE-LITE'S GROOVE IS IN THE HEART. (remember that? did u know he raps in it?) the brother's also done stuff with janet jackson.
